We like the Wasatch Retreat and Conference Center (75 S. 200 E. in Salt Lake City) so much that we have used it for each of our four annual conference’s starting in 2011. Learn about this impressive LEED building and the wonderfully helpful event support staff of the Episcopal Community Center of Utah (ECCU).
The facility is only one or two blocks from bus and Trax. Please consult the UTA trip planner.
Use of the north lot adjacent to the building is extremely limited. Public transportation, bicycling and ride-sharing is the best approach.
If you are driving, please consult the facility’s parking guide (.pdf)
We have a very low impact approach to our conferences: no paper programs, no swag and powered by Blue Sky energy. We set our impact bar as low as we can:
- Local food as much as possible
- Ridesharing and alternative transportation is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Please do your part!
Please don’t drive your vehicle by yourself if at all possible. At 75 South 200 East in downtown Salt Lake City, the Wasatch Retreat and Conference Center is within 1-2 blocks of several UTA bus lines and Trax. Bike racks are available.
Look Mom, no folders !!! The Conference schedule will be projected on the wall and available on TV monitors in several locations. If you want to consult session descriptions, speaker bios, exhibitor and sponsor profiles/lists, then please bring a fully charged smartphone, tablet or laptop. Conference information will be evolving on the website up to and through the conference. Download whatever you need.
The electric power used during the Conference and PreConference will be powered by Rocky Mountain Power Blue Sky wind power.
We are striving to make our food offerings as sustainable as possible. We are working with the retreat center’s caters to provide healthy local and organic foods as much as possible.
Our past two conferences have used low tech., biodegradable elephant pooh paper and hemp string hangers.
